This is not a Headshot Factory
When you are serious about your acting career, when you are a working and well trained actor you do not cut corners when it comes to your headshots in Los Angeles. It is arguably the most important tool in your preparation to succeed as an actor in Los Angeles. Whether you submit yourself or are submitted by your agent for any project, the first impression you will give people who will potentially hire you is crucial, it will be your headshot. If you are looking for representation and you are submitting yourself to agents or if you are submitted by your manager, how well represented would you like to be in your headshots?
Do your research and seek one of the best headshot photographers in Los Angeles. Do you need to go to one of the most expensive headshot photographers in Los Angeles, absolutely not. When the rates are $800 and more, to me that’s exaggerated for a headshot photography session. I personally booked more than 80 T.V. commercials as a talent, I never spent that kind of money on a headshot session and I had great headshots, I was going to castings an average of 3 times a week.
There is such a thing as a marketing strategy that headshot photographers use, (it is a common practice in Marketing), they price themselves really high (higher than most) so that potential clients will think if they’re that expensive they must be better, NOT TRUE. It is perhaps true in some industries, it is not true when it comes to headshot photographers in Los Angeles. I am speaking from experience, in the last 20 years I have worked with more than 8,000 actors and I am very aware of what headshot photographers are offering in Los Angeles. The main complaint I hear from my clients is that they spent too much money on their previous headshot photography session, they say the process and the outcome were mediocre at best, they regret going that route and vow not to repeat the same mistake.
I really care about the outcome of my photography, I love what I do, I do not rush through the process of our photo session, these are my headshots as well. I will also show you everything we are doing as we go along so that you will be assured that you have what you came to see me for… You will never be “in line” here and wait your turn “factory style” to get your headshots done. The time and effort you have put into this is worth more than being that individual who waits in line to be shot at a bargain or for free somewhere…
These “places” who offer free headshots where you will end up in line with others and with headshots so generic, almost passport-like will put your career on hold until you do this the right way. These places usually offer you free headshots to bait you into signing up for something else. You deserve better so why not invest in a reasonable headshot photographer in Los Angeles that will actually help you move forward without jeopardizing your budget… Choose your headshot photographer as wisely as possible, review headshot photographers’ websites and ask questions. Follow your instincts.
